T4W8 - Distance Learning - Innovation Mini STEAM project 8
With gaming fast gaining popularity worldwide as well as becoming a lucrative way of earning some decent coin, It's only a matter of time before E-Sports will make it's way into the Olympic Games. But is it really a sport?
Kia ora Cruze, well we have come to an end of an usual era. Online learning has meant you have had the freedom to manage your time independently and showcase your many skills. This week is no different and I will miss reading your mahi each week. You continue to prove that you are a deep thinker who analyses a text from different angles. I was also interested to learn more about why Team USA were conflicted about skateboarding being an Olympic sport, reading your comment about how they believe skateboarding to be about expressing yourself not the value of tricks made me see skateboarding in a different light. Sharing your point of view regarding gaming and skateboarding in the Olympics was insightful. Yes skateboarding is accessible whereas gaming is something where money and access to the internet is needed. I agree that the Olympics need to have equity for all, not just those who can afford it. You are simplifying fractions and converting them to the lowest common denominator to work out word problems. Breaking up larger numbers into parts that you can divide easily shows you have a sound knowledge of times tables and reversibility. The clinics you participated in are well set out and your engagement is another example of how you lead by example. Wild Whaea! What a cool name for an awesome Pokemon character. Well planned out, listing character traits and physical appearance in order to create a stunning piece of digital art. The ta moko idea was my favourite part, I'm not sure if it was my glasses but it looked 3D! So beautiful and again embracing te ao Maori with confidence. The poem you created was a lovely moral story, highlighting how our impulsive actions can affect others and have consequences. Very well done. You have come so far Cruze developing your own style and growing into a confident learner and leader.
